Zeineb Al-Itejawi

Zeineb works at Public Mediation on processes in which tension, intense emotions, and a charged history come together. Her approach places relational repair at the center: she creates space for underlying conflict dynamics and works in a trauma-informed way.

Drawing on her background in neuroscience, she explores human behavior and the role of emotions and morality in decision-making and conflict. She developed and delivers training modules and a masterclass on dealing with tensions and intense emotions. She has also taught an honours course on negotiation and mediation at the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Previously, she worked in peacebuilding and advisory roles in violent conflicts, both nationally and internationally.
