Tessa Kooi

Tessa Kooi is a process and dialogue facilitator at Public Mediation. She is involved in designing and mediating various types of participation processes, such as citizens’ assemblies, panels, and forums. In addition, Tessa enjoys exploring the dynamics within network collaborations in order to identify new directions for breaking through entrenched patterns together. She sees the added value of her work in connecting local challenges or conflicts to a broader societal context. Her work focuses on facilitating network collaborations, learning and development, and addressing complex societal issues. 

She has been involved in, among other initiatives, employee assemblies on healthy and sustainable nutrition and sustainable commuting (Amsterdam UMC), the Red Light District Livability Panel (Municipality of Amsterdam), and the Stagnation Network Deliberation of the Core Partners for Safety in Families, Amsterdam.

Tessa studied sociology, political science, and conflict studies at University College Maastricht and completed the master’s programmes in Conflict Resolution and Governance (University of Amsterdam) and International Crimes, Conflict and Criminology (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam). In addition, she completed her professional training as a mediator at the Dutch Centre for Conflict Resolution.

In haar vrije tijd voetbalt Tessa bij een amateurteam, waar haar vaardigheden als mediator zowel binnen als buiten de lijnen van pas komen.
